The aim of this course is to promote mathematical thinking and transferable skills rather than rote learning. You will benefit from the teaching of useful mathematics, for everyday life situations and the world of work. Additionally, our aim is to emphasise the benefits of maths to people who have been “turned off” by the subject. Teaching will be done in groups of 10-15 learners with your tutor. You will be expected to undertake independent study, and having access to a computer will be beneficial.
We deliver this course in different locations across London and the South East.
You will complete 1 Mathematics assessment. A single assessment covers all of the Functional Skills Mathematics criteria. It can be attempted as soon as the candidate is ready. The exam will be externally marked by City & Guilds. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Functional Skills in Maths Certificate.
